I find the mixing of fonts introduced by the new (and quite nice looking parsel font) a bit disturbing and suggest to revoke the \parsel command to the old markup of
I leave this to your judgement, as I haven't had time to study the new looks in detail. With typography, I think you often have to live with something for a while before you can tell whether it works, and erring on the side of keeping things fairly "quiet" and conservative is usually a good idea.
