The Berkeley Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence (RDI) is a new multi-disciplinary campus-wide initiative, focusing on advancing the science, technology and education of decentralization and empowering a responsible digital economy. The RDI Center currently includes faculty and students from computer science, finance/economics, and law, and will support 3 pillars: research, education, and community / entrepreneurship.


RDI Content Development Intern

  • Pay: $18/hr starting, ~10 hours per week
  • Description: The Berkeley Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence is currently looking for students to support content development and communications work. Open positions include social media, event planning & management, writing & podcast development, photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Qualifications: Current UC Berkeley student. Experience with writing & content development, multimedia and/or graphic design.
  • Note: We expect to hire multiple positions from this job listing. Potential specific roles include podcast & content development lead, graphic design lead, social media lead, and editorial lead. Depending on the skills of applicants, hybrid roles may be possible.

RDI Student Video Editor & Multimedia Producer

  • Job Title: Student Assistant II, Video Editor & Multimedia Producer
  • Reports to: RDI Deputy Director
  • Pay: $20/hr. starting, ~10-15 hours per week
  • Description: The Berkeley Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence is currently looking for a new student video editor and multimedia producer. The student will edit and process videos for YouTube, including seminars, events, classes and other SCET content. Typical work includes designing a thumbnail, adding titles in Premiere Pro, uploading to YouTube, and communicating with faculty and Deputy Director on the work. In addition to producing videos for YouTube, this position will produce podcasts and other multimedia work as needed. This work is flexible, and mostly remote. Knowledge of using cameras is not required for this position, but there will be opportunities to record/direct for those who have the skills and are interested. Most of the work in this role will be in video editing.
  • Qualifications: Current UC Berkeley student. Reliable, great communication skills, and skills with video editing and multimedia production. Skills with Adobe Premiere Pro required, as well as skills with Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Must have the ability to self-start and be very reliable, as this is an essential position to support SCET.

DeFi MOOC Course Development Intern

  • Description: The Berkeley Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence is currently looking for a student intern to support content development and communications work for the DeFi MOOC - https://defi-learning.org which is also a Berkeley course - https://berkeley-defi.github.io/f21 . Responsibilities include course assistance in planning and executing the DeFi MOOC, communication with students, TAs, faculty and guest speakers, and updating published websites on GitHub.

RDI Web Design and Development Lead (student position)

  • Job Title: Student Assistant II, Website Design and Development Lead
  • Reports to: RDI Deputy Director
  • Pay: $20/hr. starting, ~10 hours per week
  • Description: The Berkeley Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence (RDI) is currently looking for a new student web designer and developer to help develop the RDI website and other RDI sites such as xcelerator.berkeley.edu, defi-learning.org and others. The main technology used is GitHub Pages for these sites and websites will be built with its content management and web building tools. The student web design and development lead will design and develop new web pages, organize site architectures, and enhance search engine optimization, quality assurance, and accessibility.
  • Qualifications: Current UC Berkeley student. Experience and skills with web design and development. Some knowledge of html, CSS, and JavaScript is helpful, but not required. Most work will be done with the front-end content management system, so design skills are helpful.
