I searched for this in the new features and discussion sections and did not find anything similar to this idea.
Proposing to request new tag for sequence
seq:
Quotes from Brian Tracy's book: Eat that Frog
"Organize the steps by priority, what is most important, and sequence, which tasks you must complete in order" - Eat that Frog by Brian Tracy
"Your A-1 task is your biggest and ugliest frog of all"
"If you have two eat two frogs, eat the ugliest one first"
Adding a sequence tag will help users order their tasks.
Currently, for tasks ranked the same priority, same priority, same project, there isn't a great way to further sequence the tasks.
Adding sequence to text for project or context is not desirable because you have to edit the name of the project or context, and the sequence could be different for each item. A "1-" or "2-" etc can be added to the front of the task, but there is no function to sort tasks alphanumerically. Sleek has a few sort-by date features that can't be turned off and it can interfere with the alphanumeric sorting if you want to include a due date or threshold date.
Currently I'm using the priority to double as a sequence. But the priorities only go from A-Z and don't work that well for sequencing.
