This discussion board is for things related to PVGIS, e.g., related functions in pvlib and discussions concerning potential feature requests.

For most things, it probably still makes sense to make a separate issue, but then link it to this post.

Previous PRs in pvlib related to PVGIS:

• Add Muneer transposition model #2184 (transposition model used by pvgis)
• coerce and rotate pvgis TMY data to desired tz and year #2138 (pvgis tmy index rotation)
• Add Huld PV model #1940 (pv model used by pvgis)
• Adding PVGIS horizon data retrieval method #1395, Add gallery example for simple irradiance adjustment for horizon shading #1849
• Please update the PVGIS5 to PVGIS5.2 #1635 (discussion about pvgis v5.2)

Potential feature requests

• tmy index should ideally be in the local time zone (see coerce and rotate pvgis TMY data to desired tz and year #2138)
• get_pvgis_hourly doesn't allow for outputting dni
• get_pvgis_hourly also doesn't output solar azimuth (make it hard to replicate some intermediary steps)
