[Ubuntu 20.04] Time format

It's not the end of the world but why are the time formats on my calendar only 24 hour formats? I tried changing it to AM/PM and this is what I get versus setting it to 24h.


It's hard to see but on the right, when I change to 12h format, the time changes to 09:00, then to 24h format, it's 9:00. I changed the time format on my system and it will won't work. Any help on this appreciated.
