So this is my second attempt at the guestbook. The first time used a vintage plunger phone. Now I'm using a phone that is connected to a board and doesn't have the usual connections.

I found where the plunger activated on the board and checked with my multimeter that it makes some difference in current when I press down on the plunger. Now before it would go from 1 to 0 value on the older phone. Now it goes 1 to .452 or so. It isn't a full disconnect. I'm wondering if there's a way to change the value on the "hookup" in the programming to maybe put in the more accurate value.

I checked serial monitor and it looks like my board is ready and set just no reaction when I press down on the plunger. I had some trouble finding the port to my teensy but I think I found it.

I can hear the initial beep from the speaker of the phone when I plug in the teensy to my computer but now there's no greeting after the beep (I have the greeting from the last phone that is already formatted correctly). Then pressing the plunger does nothing and I don't get any recordings.

I feel like I missed a step and am almost willing to completely wipe my computer of any Arduino/teensy software and just redo the whole thing. I don't know what steps I'm missing or what's going on. (I don't know if I should format my ad card or format the teensy board? This is all a bit much and I thought I could speed through it because I already did the last one.)

I know this ask is big and scatterbrained but any help would be very much appreciated. The first one ended up working out really well and was able to get it ready in time for my cousin's wedding. I'm hoping to get this second one off the ground for another party. Thanks in advance.

It was the wiring in plunger. I just had to switch the wires at the plunger connection.
