lsusb returns:
unable to initialize libusb: -99
This behavior has changed from the previous load which returned the USB root hub.

For anyone still wondering:
sudo ln -s /sys/bus /dev/bus
fixes this. Parabuntu uses the old direcrory /dev/bus instead of /sys/bus/.
/dev/bus
/sys/bus/
