Long time LM user here. But lately I'm creating system with multiple hdds and although LM will create an LVM it appears to be limited to the first hdd only. The additional hdd(s) must be configured manually including partitioning, formatting, defining the PV/VG and adding to the volume group. And in all my tries for what ever reason LM has prevented me from completing this successfully. It is tremendously frustrating.
Is there currently or can there be a method to predefine the hdd(s) and desired layout in a file prior to the install and have the install process recognize and follow those definitions to upon completion the system is as desired with multiple hdd(s) or a large, multi-disk LVM group?
As a long time AIX/Linux system admin this would sure be helpful. thanks.
