In our 2021 strategy session, we had a lot of interest in making content around mental health and leadership in open organizations. We can use this issue to start and then break out issues:

Notes from the session:

  • new series, featuring audio interviews, and potential new (shorter) book?
  • articles about particular behaviours and needs for someone with : a) anxiety b) borderline c) depression d) imposter syndrom... "How to spot, how to help" kind of articles?
  • Healthy boundaries in open
  • Nothing concrete at this point, but I would love to brainstorm about how this topic intersects intrinsic motivation for one's work - ideally how one can find more joy in what they do
  • Diversity

Articles in series

Sounds great - there are a lot of angles to this. In terms of formats, I think I'm most interested in articles and short videos. Articles because we know how to do those well, and short videos because they are easy to distribute and popular to share on social media. Audio I find a bit more challenging unless we want to establish a podcast, which I think is another level of effort.

We kicked off 2019 with a similar discussion and have documented the fruits of it. Perhaps a starting point, @samuelknuth and @LauraHilliger?

That is so interesting to see - I missed that and it certainly is quite relevant. I wasn't aware of that when I wrote my pieces on this topic last fall/winter.

I'm sure that we can refine what we articulated way back when, but in many ways I think the gist of it all still holds up!

Obviously, we need to add @samuelknuth article series to the list!
