We would recommend a smartphone model that has best features such as:

• Android version: 4.0 and above
• A longer battery life, a cell battery is usually around 1500-2000 maH. You can probably expect max 3-4 hours max on a phone or tablet under heavy use so a device like this is good if you want to have enumerators in the field longer then this. In addition, we recommend getting an external USB battery charger for the smartphones. It's better to spend the extra money on external chargers usually go from 6000-12000 maH, in theory they can charge a device 3-5 times. We'd recommend one device per smartphone. The time required to charge a phone also can cut down on enumeration time in the field.
• Memory minimum of 512MB RAM (MicroSD support - Up to 4 GB);
• Camera 5 Mega Pixels and above (ideal for surveys that contain photos) a high resolution camera, makes it possible for the enumerators to take clear photos during data collection.
• GPS enabled with A-GPS, GLONASS - makes it possible to record GPS coordinates, GPS signal is more accurate. The quality of data will depend directly on the quality of the GPS module on the phone.
