For new term requests, please provide the following information:

Hi! I was wondering if the following terms would be in scope for OBA. They are terms that I am using in my research on cross-species (cat, dog, horse and human) comparison of metabolic syndrome phenotype. If so, I can definitely add more detailed definitions and sources.

  1. Body condition score. See for example https://www.petobesityprevention.org/pet-weight-check for dogs and cats. Similar scales exist for horses and livestock. This term is commonly used in veterinary medicine and is akin to body mass index.
  2. Muscle condition score. See for example https://books.lib.uoguelph.ca/vetm3430/chapter/body-condition-scoring/ and /https://wsava.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Muscle-Condition-Score-Chart-for-Cats.pdf. I think this score has only been validated for cats and dogs.
  3. Cresty neck score (horses only): See PMID:18440844
