Python 3.4 is end-of-life as of March, and we're already putting hacks into our install_requires to deal with upstream libraries that are breaking 3.4 compatibility without indicating so in their python_requires metadata.

What do people think about dropping Python 3.4 support in 1.3.0 (target October)?

I think this is very much approved, but let's continue discussion in #3036
