⚠️ Before posting ⚠️

  • This is a bug, not a question or an enhancement.
  • I've searched for similar issues and didn't find a duplicate.
  • I've written a clear and descriptive title for this issue, not just "Bug" or "Crash".
  • I agree to follow Nextcloud's Code of Conduct.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Nextcloud Android App
  2. Open Folder (e.g. "Forms")
  3. Select/Open PDF File (Containing Form Fields) in PDF Editor App (Xodo)
  4. Modify the content of the Form Fields
  5. Close the Document
  6. Back in Nextcloud Android go "back" to the Folder "Forms" containing the PDF File
  7. Click on the Kebab Menu Symbol next to the Folder to open the Bottom Sheet Menu and select "Sync"

Expected behaviour

The "Sync" feature Syncs all Files contained in the Folder and its Subfolders making the changes visible on the Server

Actual behaviour

After the Sync is finished the Modified content is gone and the "last modified Date" is also not changed.

But this only happens when using the "Sync" feature for a Folder.

if i do the exact same steps as described above and then click on the Kebab Menu Symbol next to the File to open the Bottom Sheet Menu and select "Sync" then the changes are visible on the Server as expected.
Also if i modify the File as described above and then open the same file again (triggering the Sync) the changes are visible on the Server.

I'm getting similar behaviour with Nextcloud Hub 9 (30.0.0) and Nextcloud Android app version 3.29.2
Using an external app to write to a file at storage/emulated/0/Android/media/com.nextcloud.client/nextcloud/[email protected]/todo and the file from the phone is not synced with Nextcloud server as expected.
