Switching-to-GitLab

Update 12/18/17: After hearing about Coraline's Year at GitHub, I have decided again to move away from GitHub. You can find my latest work on GitLab here. Given the stuff Coraline describes, I no longer believe those in power at GitHub have any interest in doing the right thing for other than PR reasons. I do believe there are individual people working there trying their best to change this, but it seems clear that those with power are determined to maintain the hostile environment they have been so often called out for. Our community can do better. I can do better. There are other companies that are making genuine efforts to promote diversity, inclusivity, and community, and I'm going to support them instead.
Update 6/30/15: I am stopping the avoiding-GitHub policy for the time being. Partly because of similar concerns about BitBucket, and partly because I have reason to believe GitHub may be taking some important steps to better the situation. I am leaving this repo up because I still think that awareness of these issues is important, and for the time being I will still not be using any for-pay GitHub services until I believe measurable progress is made on their part.

I have made the decision to move my repositories because some of the decisions that have been made by the GitHub team are, I feel, reason to believe that their corporate culture is actively harmful to the tech community as a whole. I am keeping my account here active, because it is not unlikely I may need this account to contribute to projects that only exist on GitHub in the future, but I will not be contributing any money to GitHub, will be avoiding hosting my own repositories here where possible, and will be encouraging others to make similar switches to other services where possible in the future.

I host new projects of mine on GitLab now, not GitHub. I think GitHub's culture is harmful to the tech community. If you want to know why, read the README in this repo.
