Currently strips off periods. This causes problems for certain Cobol statements because there is no way to detect the end of a statement.
It handles this:
CALL 'SOMETHING' USING ONE TWO THREE END-CALL
It does not handle this:
CALL 'SOMETHING' USING ONE TWO THREE.
