Component.json file references old version #8

I don’t think the component.json file is used for anything - any reason you can think of to not delete it? |
It's not being used but since it's under the node module folder I assumed that it would need to be deleted from the source then I update to the new version with it deleted. Is this assumption correct? |

Is it possible to update the component json file to reference the latest version? This is causing a static vulnerability scan to identify this file as having a outdated version.
