Pages like http://modx.com/learn/screenshots/ are very old and don't do what they should: promote and showcase MODX in a good way.

And the MODX College: http://modx.com/learn/modx-college/ last updated Jan 18, 2012, and still "Coming Soon"

But how do we, as the community, have any power to edit or improve modx.com?

What are the main goals of the site?
Should we maybe have two sections / versions of the site?

  • one that focuses on promoting and educating MODX to non-techical people that need a CMS
  • another that focuses on the technical stuff and is aimed at web proffesionals

Yeah, that should be subsites like
modx.com/learn/
modx.com/dev/

The whole site needs a better information architecture and needs to be updated. I'd say the homepage is doing a bad job.

Maybe removing the "MODX Weekend 2014" from the front-page ("What’s New in the MODX Universe") would be a simple first step... ;-)
