isolateGlobalState to protect from extension bugs?

I'm receiving some Sentry errors, which I believe must be related to some users who have extensions which are using MobX.

So the website + the extension are running two MobX in parallel, with different versions.

Would isolateGlobalState protect against such bugs? If so, what is the reason it's not true by default? Not knowing what extensions users have seem to be quite a common scenario for me.
