Affected Consoles:
  • PCSX2

Using the native hid_sony module is likely an option, as many emulators will have some trouble with the axis being to sensitive to get a button reading.

@beaumanvienna , I'd like to see if this is due to the version of SDL. Mupen64plus, Super Mario 64 as a test ROM, has no issues with movement on the joystick, nor does PPSSPP. This seems to only affect PCSX2 for now.

Below you can see how skewed the axis detection is with xboxdrv. I believe a similar thing happens with hid_sony. Possible this is due to hid_sony's implementation or SDL itself. Notice the 4 blue highlighted boxes. That means "activity" is occuring on that field, and consequently alludes to the axis being out of whack.

I've been using the analog sticks with pcsx2 today, I had no problems with that. I was using bluetooth though.

I committed accidentally the build script for pcsx2 directly to your branch, after I was testing on the upstream branch today. Just some new files, so nothing happened.

Yes, bluetooth works fine, this is USB only. Most folks use wireless, but some attempt should be made to fix it. So for testng with Metal Slug Anthology, I used the dpad, and it works fine, just the axis. Maybe its the SDL package Ubuntu uses, idk.

Haha I saw after I tried to push and saw the merged files. No worry.
