Deprecation!

This project has been archieved in favor of the ResourceCopyTask implementation served by Oomph!

Oomph Download Setup Task

Purpose

The oomph-download-task is an extension for the Eclipse Oomph Installer that allows to download resources during the setup. The downloadTask uses the Apachae commons-io FileUtils library to download the resources.

Restrictions

At the moment this extension works only for directly accessible resources. Using an URL that needs some kind of login, uses redirection or wants other information of the user are not supported (e.g. the Java JRE/JDK needs you to accept their terms and conditions before downloading).

Usage

Warning

Alpha Relase is now public. For development of oomph product or project setup files in eclipse install the plugin from https://maybeec.github.io/oomph-task-download/update

  • Now you can add the following snippet to your Setup file

    <setupTask
        xsi:type="com.github.maybeec.oomph.task:download"
        id="reorder.nodejs.2"
        excludedTriggers="STARTUP"
        resourceLocation="http://abc.de/fgh.jkl"
    	isUrl="true"
    	connectionTimeout="1000"
    	readTimeout="2000"
    	destinationPath="your/tempFolder"
    	destinationFile="name.ending"
    	priority="500"
    	estimatedSize="5"s
    />
  • resourceLocation specifies where the data is stored you want to fetch. This can be an URI or an URL. In case of an URL the files should be the direct response of the server

  • isUrl declares the resourceLocation an URL. This leads to another API called within this plugin. Default is false

    • connectionTimeout the time the plugin waits for the connection to be established in case of an URL

    • readTimeout the time the plugin waits for data to be recieved after the connection was established in case of an URL

  • destinationPath specifies the folder the data should be stored. The safest is to specify a full path

  • destinationFile the name the fetched file will have on the disk
