Not sure if this is worth fixing, but in Vim if you type / then change your mind and decide you want to run a command by deleting the / and replacing it with a :, it'll still run the command. Vis will instead ignore it.
Steps to reproduce
type /, press backspace, then type :
vis version (vis -v)
vis v0.9-251-gd8276d9-dirty +curses +lua +tre +acl +selinux
