The Open Collective Bot will comment on issues based on whether the author is already a backer of your Open Collective. It can also tag issues based on the same information.

What does it do?

When an issue is created from backers or sponsors

The Open Collective Bot will comment on the issue to tell they were recognized. If configured, it will apply an extra tag.

Example:

Thanks for backing our project. We will handle your issue with priority support. To make sure we don't forget how special you are, we added a priority label to your issue.

When an issue is created from a "Contributor" of the Open Collective

Nothing should happen.

When an issue is created from everyone else

The Open Collective Bot will comment on the issue to mention the existence of the Open Collective, it can also mention extra information like priority support.

Example:

Thank you for opening an issue. We will get back to you as soon as we can. Also, check out our Open Collective and consider backing us.
