Depandabot and Renovate are bots that produce PRs for dependency updates which allows the CI to run on any changes and identify potential problems in advance. Renovate was recommended as a better option.

The DevOps team often spends a large amount of time fixing these issues as they arise rather than being able to identify them before they're changed.

Tasks

  • Determine how Renovate is implemented.
  • Calculate the number of failed runs that result from dependency changes.
