[BUG] Upgrade from 1.40.3 -> 1.40.4 fails #397

Is there an existing issue for this?

Current Behavior

When upgrading to 1.40.4 console shows

Starting Plex Media Server. . . (you can ignore the libusb_init error)

Error: Unable to set up server: sqlite3_statement_backend::loadRS: malformed JSON (N4soci10soci_errorE)

Starting Plex Media Server. . . (you can ignore the libusb_init error)

Over and over again, plex never starts even after running for 6+ hours

If you browse to plex via web it shows database migration in progress

If i change version back to 1.40.3 plex starts as expected

Expected Behavior

No response

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Docker on debian jail via jailmaker within truenas scale

  2. Standard config

  3. Initiate upgrade from 1.40.3 to 1.40.4

Environment

- OS: Debian Bookworm - truenas jailmaker https://github.com/Jip-Hop/jailmaker
- How docker service was installed:packagemanager

CPU architecture

x86-64

That error implies there is an issue with your database. Checking the Plex documentation will help resolve it.

One would think - yet the DB works fine on 1.40.3 and older. DBrepair tool also shows no errors or issues, runs weekly.

I have database backups via snapshots going back about 5 years. Tried a few of those and same thing. Works fine on 1.40.3 and older, doesnt startup on 1.40.4

This is an issue with the app, not the container.

The exact repair script mentioned to fix the db issue in that thread auto runs every sunday on my DB. I just manually ran it to see if anything changes and nada, no errors found or repaired. Guess Im stuck on 1.40.3 until I get this sorted
