New line in math block #39

I noticed a bug dealing with new lines in LaTeX blocks.

For example, if my markdown file looks like

$$ x = 1 \\ y = 1, $$

the output svg has all of this code in one line.

However, when I insert a new line inside of a matrix, this issue is not present. For example,

$$ y = \begin{bmatrix} y_1\\ y_2\\ ...\\ y_k \end{bmatrix} $$

works as it should.
