Is it possible to read inputs from steering wheel control?

I would love to install this in my car but one thing I need is to keep steering wheel control so I can get rid of the head unit altogether and use the pilot drive alone. Is this something you have considered? My car is a 2012 NC mazda miata for reference and I would be interested in helping develop some interface if needed if you are interested in this path and want some help
