Hi everyone,

I asked on #thelounge IRC channel if it's actually possible to bind one instance of The Lounge with multiple IP addresses in the same time.

In my case, my server have one public IPv6 and one private IPv4. I want to privilege IPv6 for IRC connections but sometimes, like with IRCnet server, they only have IPv4 addresses so my server is not able to establish a connection.

So people on #thelounge IRC channel said to me to open a feature request here.

Actually on other softwares I use, they bind on all the IP addresses you gave in the configuration file and they offer you an option to prefer IPv6 over IPv4 or the inverse like if your server have both IPv6 and IPv4 addresses and want to connect to an IRC server that have both IP addresses to, your server check the configuration and see that you can bind on IPv6 and IPv4 and that you set that you prefer to use IPv6 over IPv4 so if the remote IRC server have an IPv6, it will try to connect with it and fallback in IPv4 if it's not possible.

I'm sorry to don't give you more information. I hope it can be a good feature ! :)

Thank you for your time ! :)
