On OS X, we can send it through pbcopy. I'm not sure what our options are on Linux yet.

xclip(1), though that is not included in most distributions. Though there seems to be a cross-platform (win, macos, linux) gem for it: http://rubygems.org/gems/clipboard

Though with that fix you need to manually require the "clipboard" gem before using "clip_password".
