Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I have Calibre Web configured so that it retrieves/displays 100 book covers at a time (as configured in the “Books per Page” setting in the UI Configuration). I like that, as I scroll down to the bottom of the page, the next set of 100 books is automatically retrieved without having to click a Page 2, Page 3, etc. (BTW, why doesn’t this behavior work the same way when looking at shelves? Maybe I need to write a separate Feature Request for this).

After scrolling down the list of books, the Header row (with the Search box, Admin and User Account button, Logout, etc.) as well as the Browser/Shelves list on the left, scrolls out of view. If I want to do a search, select another category or anything else, I have to first scroll back to the top of the web page.

Describe the solution you'd like.
What I would like to see happen is for the Header row to remain static and that the Browse/Shelves column either:

  • is in a separate pane view that scrolls independently from the book list so that it doesn’t scroll away;
    OR:
  • allow the Browse/Shelves column to be collapsed so that its display is toggled on/off via a button on the left side of the Header row.

I suspect this feature would be possible by modifying the CSS files, but I’m not versed in style sheets enough to do this myself. Could this be added as an enhancement in a future release? Thanx.
