I use local domains such as app1.localhost to connect to different apps on my localhost. However, when I connect IVPN this stops working. Such local domains work because, in normal conditions, localhost is pointed to 127.0.0.1 i the local DNS.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
This happens because of the Firewall and DNS configuration.
When the VPN is connected:
By default, IVPN Firewall blocks connectivity in your LAN.
IVPN changes DNS configuration to use the IVPN DNS server.
To make local domains work for you, you can:
Configure the IVPN app to use your local DNS server (Settings -> DNS -> Use custom DNS server when connected to IVPN).
Allow LAN connectivity (Settings -> IVPN Firewall -> Allow LAN traffic when IVPN Firewall is enabled).
Please, note: Modifying these settings might reduce the security of your VPN connection. Proceed with caution and ensure you understand the implications of these changes.
