First off, GREAT WORK! I've long wanted to make a solid player to stream stuff direct from my NAS. Seems like this could get me there.

Sadly I recently updated all the apple TV's in my home with ATVv6 so if I am reading right, there is still a little work left to get it working on the latest version. Here's hoping someone can unlock the bits we need!
