Here are our guidelines for contributing to our blog.

Writing and Editing Process

Once your pitch has been accepted, here are our guidelines for collaboration:

1. Join the #socialmedia channel in Slack, if you haven't signed up yet, please email [email protected].
2. Write your draft in Google Docs and give edit permissions to [email protected] to look at.

The editing process happens in Google Docs, before notifying our editor(s) to take look, please make sure you proofread for spelling and grammar. We recommend using Grammarly along with manual proofreading!

Non-anonymous Work

1. When you're ready for the editing process, post a link to our draft to #socialmedia.
2. Once your post is ready for publication, let @julia on Slack know what your Medium username is. Create a Medium account if you haven't.
3. She will add you as a writer to the https://medium.com/ifme/ publication.
4. Create a new Medium post. Copy and paste your draft from Google Docs there. Don't worry about formatting, we will take care of that.
5. Save the Medium post as a draft and do not publish.
6. Follow these steps for adding a draft to our publication.

Anonymous Work

1. When you're ready for the editing process, let @julia know on Slack or by email ([email protected]) privately.
2. When the post is ready for publishing, Julia will create the Medium post for you under our @ifmeorg account. Here is an example.

Final Steps

1. We'll do all the formatting and scheduling for publishing your post.
2. We'll share your post on our social media.
3. Within a few days of the post being published, your compensation will be sent.
