Instead of doing Markdown lists of links, we could make YAML data files

Advantages:

  • Table of Contents can be automatically generated
    • Internal fragment links too
  • Data is fully separate from markup (the web developer's fantasy)

Disadvantages:

  • Data is in a different place
    • Minor inconvenience, as long as CONTRIBUTING.md and the README.md have instructions

Advantages: We could tag links and generate a keyword search off of that.

The deeper I think about this, the more I want something custom (Jekyll plugin, or ... something), which is a bad road to take I think...
