I have to manually create the entry in order to use it. as far as I remember was that not the case. It was easy to create the entry via the chrome plugin. I have configured the json-api and redid it many times.
I have a debian OS and many users, but did not install it globally. rather each user on demand.
Does anybody have an idea how to debug/ fix this issue?

all the best

Can you attach some screenshots of the entries you're referring to?

I have the same issue on Firefox. Creating an entry from gopass-bridge fails with "failed to encrypt".

There is a fix for this issue here: gopasspw/gopass-jsonapi#118 (comment)
