  1. modified template shell scripts 

    Changed according to:
1) recommendations from shellcheck
such as quoting variables and removing backticks
2) test "$var" -> [ "$var" ]
3)
if [ "$var" ]
then
to
if [ "$var" ]; then

4) tr "zeroing" command to use alnum (alphanumeric) class
This will make the command more future-proof in case hashes later go beyond base-16
