Smartdocs not editable when module not enabled

We have an issue with the module, when it's enabled the smartdocs aren't editable. When trying to edit the smartdocs the URL call has the model name missing then fails. When the module is disabled, we can edit the smartdocs fine. It works in QA but not in our prod environment. Do you think another module conflict could be causing this issue?
