It should be a table, not a string.
If we install JAX in the environment in which pre-commit runs mypy, the pre-commit.ci runs times out. So we cannot add JAX to the additional_dependencies of mypy in .pre-commit-config.yaml, so we have to tell mypy that it's ok if it's missing.
