There are different possibilities of how to orient cameras. For instance, in most work on graphics and vision, the depth of the image is the (negative) Z component, whereas in MARS, it is currently the X component. Cameras in Blender follow the -Z convention, however currently SMURF assumes the camera to be oriented as its parent link.

I say we go with the usual convention and assume MARS does that, too.

This is similar to the problem with obj exports (#139).

We can add a similar parameter to the export settings, based on the existence of camera sensors in the model...
Would this be useful or should we add a different settings panel for all kind of advanced specific usecase only settings?

This appears not to be that huge of an issue at the moment. So we should reconsider it in 1.1.
If you need to export a camera differently, you can still just rotate the mesh and export like that.
