Help needed! Dependabot is failing with the following error: Due to the engine-strict setting, the update will not succeed.

Dependabot failed to update your dependencies because there was an error resolving your JavaScript dependency files.

Dependabot encountered the following error:

Dependabot uses Node.js v20.12.2
 and NPM 10.5.0
. Due to the engine-strict setting, the update will not succeed.

Additional details:

In package.json, I have given:

  "engines": {
    "npm": ">=10.0.0",
    "node": ">=20.0.0"
  },

Also,
engine-strict=true is given in .npmrc . This setting is used to enforce the node version as specified in package.json engines.

The node version used by dependabot falls in the range specified in package.json. I don't understand what else needs to be done to make dependabot working again! Please do help if you have come across a similar issue.
