Another newbie question ... Opening Website on local network

Sorry once again for a question that is probably obvious to most...

I have set up a second site, and I'm waiting for the DNS servers to point to my ip, but in the meantime, how do I access/serve the website locally?

IE, how do I just type in my server's local ip and display the index.html of that site?

This is odd, I am sure there was an answer to this question, which solved the problem - has it been deleted?
