Consolidating everything related to the documentation of additional VPS providers into this issue. Currently, the providers that I would like to write documentation for are:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud
  • Linode
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Vultr

I've gotten pretty far with AWS. The process a lot more complicated than with Digital Ocean and will require a pretty thorough documentation. That said, there seem to be issues with Let's encrypt as mentioned previously here. I'll have to debug what's going on more thoroughly.

Linode's issue is that they don't support creating Linodes with a SSH key instead of a password. I need to see if the DebOps bootstrap playbook can do that for us automatically, Otherwise, I need to write documentation explaining how to turn do that.

Good news for Vultr, everything works fine if you follow the Digital Ocean documentation! I'll still create a page for Vultr anyways and take some screenshots of the Vultr UI to make things easier. But, if you're already comfortable with Vultr and Digital Ocean, it works out of the box.

Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud are currently low priority so I haven't spent any time on them. They'll probably come after I'm done with the other three. That said, I might do some exploratory tests to see if they're easy to do or not. If they are, I might bump them ahead of AWS.
