This is somewhat correlated to the supervisor view, but I don't want to piggyback on this issue directly.
In some situations, a subtitle angel has to wait for extended periods of time after he is able to submit a written line in order to keep them in sync. I would suggest that a Shift-Enter adds the current line to a "supervisor-queue", from which the supervisor can submit the lines to the monitors.
From a UX perspective using a tablet to swipe the submitted subtitles to the monitors would be an interesting thought.
