macOS: loading a savestate crashes on recent nightly builds

i've had to keep using an old build i had from 2021 because newer nightly builds on mac don't seem to handle savestates well. whether through hotkeys or the menu, loading any existing state (saving works fine) results in a crash. the window closes with little indication of what went wrong. probably not the most helpful of reports but i figure i might as well put it out there.

If you can bisect the build to find what broke it for you that might help fix it.
