The NRF24l01+ is used if many projects and may be a rather good candidate for a cheap component to act as both a BLE/RF transmitter and and receiver for computers that don't have Bluetooth capabilities.

Edit: I misread the issue at first.

Good thought! I've done some preliminary testing with BLE HID (See #3)

I can look into this as part of that.
