Playgroup Activity Ideas

Most of the playgroups I researched so far have a huge Forest School inspiration, which means that most of their activities are aimed towards building a connection with nature. Most of the playgroups listed the activities they offer in a really vague manner:
"Atividades lúdicas, motoras, sensoriais e artísticas, ouvir e contar histórias e experimentar atividades diferentes todas as semanas"

Here is a list of activities I collected from the ones that did share this part:

• free play (they ALL do)
• painting
• swimming (some forest schools have pools/river nearby)
• mud kitchen
• walks
• climbing and sledging
  
• gardening
  
• make believe
• sandpit
• splashing in puddles
• rolling in leaves
• making mud pies
• looking for insects/worms
• painting on a leaf
• trampoline
• swings and ropes
• reading
• "Hands-on" - plasticine
• wooden tools - some of them encourage the use of wooden tools
  
• musical instruments - only a few mentioned music related activities.
  
• etc

None of them explain in depth how these activities are done. The only playgroup that stood out to me (so far) was: https://www.pureplay.pt/
Each of their playgroup sessions have a theme which automatically makes it so much for interesting than just "free play" or a set schedule. Here are some of the ones they have done:

I just bumped into another playgroup that offers a similar style of activities that I shared above. The difference is that they are more consistent with the dates and times. For example: they have carpenter focused activities every weekend with a guide & dancing/singing lessons with another guide. I like the structure. Here is a bit more about them:

🍂 O que é o Asas?

A Asas é um projeto educativo de cariz informal a funcionar no Parque Florestal de Monsanto desde setembro de 2020.
Identificamo-nos com o termo aloparentalidade peripatética e focamo-nos no vínculo afectivo que estabelecemos com as crianças, na relação que as crianças estabelecem consigo mesmas, com o outro e com o meio ambiente, sempre em meio florestal.

A Asas tem neste momento a funcionar:

• o Crescer na Floresta, de 2f a 6f, de Setembro a Julho para crianças dos 3 aos 10 anos com a Patrícia Pereira (educadora de infância e narradora oral) e a Débora Tavares (líder em Forest School)

• os Passeios em Família, uma vez por mês aos sábados de manhã com a Patrícia Pereira (educadora de infância e narradora oral) e a Débora Tavares (líder em Forest School)

• as Histórias que as árvores contam, uma vez por mês aos fins de semana de manhã, para famílias, com a Ana Sofia Paiva (actriz, narradora oral e arte-educadora)

• o Dançar - Cantar com a Floresta, aos fins de semana de manhã com a Clara e o Gui da Baileia para famílias.

• os Mini Carpinteiros da Floresta, aos fins de semana de manhã para famílias com a Maria Carvalho (arte-educadora).
