We should document how to interpret the raw profile data for both the Ping1D and Ping360. What is the meaning of each byte? how it relates to distance, sample_period, sound_speed and etc.

for the profile message, what is the meaning of each byte of the profile_data field? how does that relate to the visual profile?
It is probably just a matter of re-writing things so they are more explicit and the relations are clearer.
