Is it possible to send a DEactivativation command to stop the already started air_conditioning service?

Maybe with #310 this will be possible - cannot test it as my car doesn't support it.

I don't think so. Does your BMW app on the phone have that option? If not then it's not possible to do this.

The app does not provide for the "Off" function.

My i3 manual reads:
With the BMW i Remote App, refer to page 134, the standing air conditioning can be switched on.
The system switches off automatically after a certain period of time.

As a work-around, have you tried if unlocking and relocking the car might "stop" the stationary climate control prematurely? I did not yet have a chance to test that ...

In the My BMW app, if you start the climatizing feature again while it's already running (visible via a spinning ventilator-icon in the app) it will deactivate the already-active climatizing.

Note that the app should be aware that the climatising is already running before it is able to stop the running climatizing.
For my car, it becomes visible in the My BMW app a few seconds after starting the climatizing (as it has gotten the feedback that climatizing is actually started)

Locking/Unlocking the car has no effect on the remote climatizing unless you start and stop the car.

from what I see, #310 didn't solve/add this option to turn off the AC/climate.

as mentioned by @nilsvdb82, I see this option in the BMW app, so it should be able to add this turn off action and also a sensor reporting the current state (on or off).

Well, it depends ;)

It is technically possible with #310, but only when calling it via the Python module itself. In HA or in our CLI there is no easy access for this feature, thats correct.

You need it in HA or bimmerconnected cli?

ideally from HA, but CLI would work as well, because I can create a "CLI" sensor in HA to run the CLI.

btw: if I understood well, the off action and status are confirmed to be available via Python module, do you have any hint where I can find how to run it via the Python module? I will try to find out it tonight and then maybe try to call it somehow from HA (eg: HA > CLI > python script > bimmer module), a workaround but better than nothing.

Adding it to our cli.py would help, however to get it into HA we would need to push our dependency there or use the custom component.

The best would be to create a HA PR containing the changes for the additional service.

As my car doesn't support it, it wasn't on my to do list.

Maybe I can have a look at it next week.

unfortunately you won't be able to use it yourselves, but it will be very helpful for anyone that has a car supporting it, examples in my case: currently if I trigger it from HA...

I don't know if it is still running after x minutes or if I need to call the service again
if for any reason I changed my mind and won't go out anymore (ex: when HA automatically starts the AC when I take my key out of the "faraday box"), I can't stop it from HA. I need to stop it in the BMW app or leave it reach the time limit (iirc, 30min).

so, the option to check current status and stop will be very useful.

let me know if I can help anyhow testing it.

btw: if some day we decide to add "remote camera" (the one that takes photos around the car and creates a "3D view"), I can help testing as well.

Please try the newest version of the custom component (https://github.com/bimmerconnected/ha_custom_component/releases/tag/20211014.1) and let me know if this is working.

I'll create a PR for merging into HA then.

With the old API we're still using for vehicle status, it seems not possible to get the current AC status. Another thing we have to look for when updating to the new endpoints.

Hi, I gave a try now (morning in Ireland), I don't see the new deactivate service available in "services", what I did:

Removed the BMW connected drive that I had installed via the "integration" area then "Delete".
Restarted HA.
In HACS, I added the custom repository.
Installed "BMW Connected Drive BETA" 20211014.1 via HACS > "Explore & add repository"
Added login details
Restarted HA.
All sensors/locks are working
Checked the services in developer tools, but didn't find it there.
I checked the custom_conponents folder and it has the correct files (eg: services file has the new deactivate option)

I'll try to investigate and I find out something during the day.

@nilsvdb82 or anyone, do you see the new "deactivate" service?

It seems that HACS doesn't recognize the new release, it tries to install the older one.
I'll have a look tonight.

fyi: rhoddan said the beta version isn't visible in HACS, but for me it is, following the instructions on how to install adding the repository, not sure if I did something different comparing to rhoddan. And I think HACS installed the beta version, I attached a printscreen showing the version as 20211014.1, but as we see in the other printscreen, I don't see the new service.

I can see the bmw beta in HACS but then I thought I need to find it in configuration-integrations but there it seems to be the "standard" version only

If I remember correctly they share the integration. So if you downloaded the integration via HACS, just use the normal setup.

This is of course if there were no changes to how HA handles overwriting built-in integrations with custom ones.

it worked!

I was able to activate and THENNNNN deactivate. in the app shows a msg saying the climatization was completed.

PR home-assistant/core#57772 hast been merged into HA, will be included either in next minor update (2021.10.7) or 2021.11.
Please remove the custom component as soon as the new version is released as it doesn't stay up to date with the current HA version.
