can't get 0.4.0 working

I have been running v0.2.1 for a long time and for some reason it suddenly stopped working. I found that the device config was gone so I recreated it but can't seem to get AMazon to see the new devices although the request shows up when I run the .jar file. I figured it was now time to try allover with v0.4.0 but I don't see any pre-built jar file and maven is failing to build. Can anyone help walk me through getting this working again? I know this code is quite old but even the 0.2.1 was working up to today so I thought that 0.4.0 might get me back up.
