How to overwrite admin-bar module

Hi, I'm having trouble when trying to overwrite admin-bar. Could you please show me how to overwrite this module?

I just copy admin-bar folder from node_modules into modules/apostphecms/admin-bar
and modify that code

It depends a little on what you want to modify, but copying the whole admin-bar module means that any updates wouldn't be applied. Instead, you should extend it at the project level. I can help if you are still in need.
