Option to open the link in the other browser but staying on the source browser

Hi I was wondering if there is a way to use open in without actually switching to the browser being opened.
I frequently want to open a link using open in but not necessarily actually switch to that browser immediately.
Say I am in gmail on chrome, i get an email full of links, I right click and uses open in firefox for a link and everything works. Firefox opens with the link. But if I just wanted to open the link and continue with the email I have to go back to chrome. Is there a setting or option for the open in app to open firefox as usual but without actually switching to view firefox but remain in chrome.
